Oral history interview : Elizabeth Riddle Jackson, Reed College, class of 1947 / interviewed by Trish Styer, 1983, on December 18, 2003.

Elizabeth Riddle Jackson grew up in Portland. Both of her parents and a sister also attended Reed College: Matthew Casey Riddle, class of 1917, Katherine Kerr Riddle, class of 1921, and Florence Kerr Riddle, class of 1951. Jackson majored in economics and played soccer at Reed. She also enjoyed mountain climbing on Mt. Hood. After Reed, she studied at the University of Toulouse and later received her M.A. from Wellsley College. She received a Fulbright Scholarship and earned her doctorate in French from the Sorbonne. She taught French at San Diego State University, eventually becoming chair of the French Department.
